Rating: K (Suitable for ages 13 and above)
Disclaimers: With the exception of Malachi Reddington and Cornelius Noonan, all names given are fictional. The mentioned characters Tony Carpullo, Bill Meinertzhagen, and Captain McCawley were RP characters belonging to others. All other named characters are mine.
Summary: The incomplete collection of letters exchanged between a US soldier and his friends and family. 17/23
Author's Note: These letters were originally posted as supporting extras on a WWII RP. They were fun to write and I might add one or two more in future.

Dearest Kat,
I got nothing but questions! It's been ages since I had news that was so great as that. When are you due? Are Ma and Susan looking after you? Are you doing OK? What a grand thing! I ain't stopped grinning yet. Both the names you got sound great to me. Mikey will love a brother or sister. We're gonna have to win this war quick now so I can get back home to see the wee one and you and every one.
Your No. 6 letter ain't here so I think may be it got lost. But Francis. I don't think Ma can handle being told he's gone missing. She ain't so strong as she used to be and James getting hurt took a lot from her. You ain't done wrong not saying any thing I don't think. Francis ain't soft tho' and he's most likely of all of us to get through any trouble and be OK for it.
It'll be good to have James and Patrick around too. They can keep Peter behaving or they can run him out if he don't and he knows it. Ned and Jack being around regular will help. And the boys too. I told them special to keep an eye out. It's good they fixed up that wall too on account of it never having been too good before. Next time you see Mal and the boys tell them thanks from me.
I hope the baby's a boy because Mikey could use a brother. Think you could manage that? Only kidding!
Love always,
Joe
